Management of the golf operations are performed by honours golf company, llc (honours), a subsidiary of troon golf, llc, a third party. During the year ended december 31, 2024, the organization paid honours employee costs of $4,652,572, administrative fees of $625,622, and management fees of $150,000.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is exempt from federal and state income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is classified by the internal revenue service (irs) as other than a private foundation. No provision for income taxes is required for the year ended december 31, 2024, since the organization had no taxable income from unrelated business activities. The income tax positions taken by the organization for any years open under the various statutes of limitations are that the organization continues to be exempt from income taxes and that it has properly reported unrelated business income that is subject to income taxes. The organization believes that there are no positions taken or expected to be taken that would significantly increase unrecognized tax liabilities within 12 months of the reporting date. None of the organization's federal or state income tax returns are currently under examination.

EXECUTION OF A FULL RESTORATION AND RENOVATION OF EAST POTOMAC MINIATURE GOLF - THE NATION'S OLDEST CONTINUOUSLY OPERATING MINIATURE GOLF COURSE.THE JACK VARDAMAN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WAS CONDUCTED AT LANGSTON GOLF COURSE WHERE THIRTY ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS WERE TAUGHT VALUABLE JOB AND LIFE SKILLS WHILE EARNING AN INCOME AND BUILDING ELIGIBILITY FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP. IN 2024, THE PROGRAM PRODUCED ITS FIRST 'EVANS SCHOLAR' - A RECIPIENT OF A FULL HOUSING AND TUITION COLLEGE GRANT THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WESTERN GOLF ASSOCIATION. THE BANCROFT GORDON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WAS ALSO CREATED, FUNDED, AND AWARDED BY NLT AND PRESENTED TO THREE STUDENTS WHO EXCELLED IN THE PROGRAM IN 2024.2024 MARKED THE BEGINNING OF "FREE LESSON FRIDAYS", A COMMUNITY EVENT SERIES TARGETED AT INTRODUCING LOCAL WASHINGTON, DC COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS TO THE GAME OF GOLF. THE PROGRAM SAW MORE THAN 300 PARTICIPANTS ACROSS SIX EVENTS. THROUGH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS, DEDICATED MAINTENANCE PRACTICES, AND A GROWING COMMUNITY OF VOLUNTEERS, NLT CONTINUED ITS COMMITMENT TO LONG-TERM ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY AT THE THREE COURSES. IN 2024, NLT MOBILIZED A ROBUST VOLUNTEER NETWORK TO EXECUTE MORE THAN 1,650-MAN HOURS DEDICATED TO ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS. PROJECTS INCLUDED REMOVING TRASH FROM THE FACILITIES AND THEIR SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENTS AND RESTORING NATIVE HABITAT THROUGH INVASIVE VEGETATION REMOVAL.
