Mission

Transforming donated vehicles into safe reliable presentable transportation for presentation to local financially disadvantaged deserving residents at no cost to them.

Program Services

During this year Rolling Start NC presented 38 vehicles to local residents. The value of these vehicles which includes the original donors contribution is $77,103. Most of the labor was provided at no cost by our team of volunteers. Many local suppliers of parts and machine shop services provided Rolling Start NC with parts and services at no cost or reduced costs. In addition to the vehicles granted another 29 vehicles are in-process of being refurbished. Over $15,906 has been expended in the process of refurbishing these vehicles. The total costs shown in 28a includes all related Shop Costs and materials needed to refurbish all of the vehicles listed above. It does not include any administrative costs or the cost of the Mechanic listed in 29 below or the value of the vehicle when donated to Rolling Start NC.$28,571$66,080
Rolling Start NC has been very fortunate to have received two Capacity Building grants to help boost the number of vehicles turned out each year. These grants address a part-time administrative support person and a part-time mechanic. We have increased our vehicles granted to 38 an increase over the prior year of 13. The costs shown in 29a are for the salaries and payroll taxes related to the Administrative Assistant and the Mechanic.$30,500$44,492
Rolling Start has received the first Grant related to constructing a New Garage Building that will house a lift. This addition will increase our productivity as multiple vehicles are often being worked on simultaneously. The building construction is in-process and should be completed next year.$8,100$17,007
