“The Advisory Board (which was the only board when I was hired) informed me that they selected my pay based on an overview of other Executive Directors in the non profit sector and within the homeless service system. I was slightly above some and below others who ran larger agencies. Most of the Advisory Board was made up of Executive Directors.”
“Conflict of interest forms with Board of Directors are reviewed annually.”
“The Board of Directors holds an annual review of the Executive Director based on performance.”
“The Advisory Board was already in place when I was hired. They had a governance charter in place. These documents were provided to the DCCA and the IRS when they sought non profit status. Financial Statements were shared with the Advisory Board and then Board of Directors on a regular basis. These were reviewed at least annually in a membership meeting that is open to the public.”

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | The 2022 Point in Time Count was conducted in early March. With over 300 volunteers, our service providers and community members went out and surveyed those experiencing homelessness. Following the PIT Count, a comprehensive report was written and released to the community with information on the data collected during the Count. The Count included an unsheltered and sheltered count. The annual NOFO was released from HUD in September. Along with the annual NOFO, HUD released a special NOFO geared toward ending unsheltered and rural homelessness. Acting as the Collaborative Applicant, PIC submitted eight projects from five different organizations that cover HMIS, Supportive Services, Planning, Transition Housing / Rapid Rehousing, and Permanent Supportive Housing Projects. For the first time in three years, PIC hosted the Statewide Homelessness Awareness & Housing Solutions Conference this November, bringing together over 500 people to attend breakout sessions and hear from a variety of speakers. Utilizing community sponsorships, PIC was able to invite five people from Finland to speak on Housing First, along with the Executive Director from the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness. The PIC website has also expanded vastly, providing more dashboards demonstrating the effect of programs in our community and establishing a new "Get Help" page with access to different community resources. The vacancy has also been maintained and our "Lunch & Learn" training recordings have been included on a training page of the website. Working with the Coordinated Entry System Department, PIC hosted a five-part series of webinars, reaching over 600 providers in the community. These topics included expertise from employment programs, homeless prevention and diversion, subsidized housing, and rental assistance, and featured the landlord engagement program. Along with this training, PIC hosted a "Hoarding and Decluttering Training" hosted by the Mental Health Institute of San Francisco. This training was widely requested by our direct service providers and had a great turnout. To support the continued effects of COVID-19 in our community, PIC worked alongside the Hawaii State Department of Health to distribute tens of thousands of cloth face masks and hand sanitizer. PIC also coordinated with supportive service organizations, such as Project Vision Hawaii, to provide vaccination clinics. |
