In addition, the conflict of interest policy is reviewed with new board members and before any large transactions are entered into or significant decisions are made. The organization requires that all board members and management annually disclose any potential conflicts of interest. When potential conflicts of interest are disclosed, the executive committee is responsible for reviewing those conflicts and determining the appropriate action to be taken, such as recusal from discussion and voting on issues related to the conflict.”

“The organization works to eliminate prejudice and discrimination and to defend human and civil rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (lgbt) utahns. During 2022, the organization educated the utah community by providing diversity and inclusion training for companies, raised awareness of equality issues through speaking engagements and rallies, and developed robust content for its website and other social media. In addition, the organization awarded 32 full-tuition scholarships to lgbtq students enrolled at colleges and universities throughout the state of utah. The organization also began training with the moral courage project to mentor future leaders in the lgbtq community and partnered with edc utah and the governor's office of multiculturalism to facilitate panel discussions on "diversity & belonging" throughout utah.”

“The financial statements of the organization have been prepared on the modified cash basis of accounting, which is a comprehensive basis of accounting other than generally accepted accounting principles (u.s. Gaap). This basis of presentation differs from u.s. Gaap in that revenues are recognized when received rather than when earned, and expenses are recognized when paid rather than when the obligation is incurred. Modifications to the cash basis of accounting include related-party accounts receivable, related-party accounts payable, property and equipment, and in-kind contributions. Related-party receivables are recognized when paid by the organization on behalf of a related party. Related-party payables are recognized when expenses are paid by a related party on behalf of the organization.”
