“Earth guardians has accomplished quite a bit during 2015. Our crews have been incredibly active and 100's of actions, events and projects have taken place worldwide to protect the earth, the air, the water and the atmosphere. This past spring and summer earth guardian crews in bhutan, togo and tamaulip along with many other crews planted over 20,000 trees. In togo, environmental leadership trainings wre held that reached approximately 5,000 youth. Giant trash pick-up projects took place in bhutan, the navajo nation, new york and malaysia, to name a few. Our ryse youth council and some crew leaders hosted around 30 leadership and climate justice trainings, workshops and presentations across the us reaching over 50,000 young people. Our crews also have planted over 10 ecological gardens and this spring crews focused on global soil sequestration that involved community events, biochar creation, building bio-intensive gardens and producing beautiful art to tell this story. Global crew calls have taken place every one to two months, giving youth the opportunity to support each other, work together to solve problems and develop campaigns. Earth guardians has launched several successful and far reaching petitions including-"i'm 16 and can't vote but my future is on the ballot" which received 105,857 signatures and "protect freedom of the press: drop charges against journalists for covering nd pipeline protests" which received 114,436 signatures.”
