Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

Crc established a fund at the denver foundation and transferred its board designated endowment fund to the denver foundation to hold, manage, invest, reinvest, administer and distribute to crc. Additionally, as part of the agreement, third parties can contribute donor restricted funds to the denver foundation. As of december 31, 2022 and 2021, no such funds have been contributed. Crc follows the investment policy of the denver foundation. The denver foundation may from time to time make one or more distributions or loans from principal to or for the benefit of crc, but only to meet an "emergency need and then if the distribution has been approved both by a vote of three-fourths of all directors of crc then in office and the members of the board of trustees of the denver foundation then in office. In addition, crc may elect to take income distributions up to 10% of the market value of the fund on a quarterly basis.

PART X, LINE 2:

Crc is exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and classified as other than a private foundation. Crc is subject to income tax on any unrelated business income. As of december 31, 2022 and 2021, no unrelated business income was earned by crc. Crc has adopted the provisions of income taxes. In determining the recognition of uncertain tax positions, crc applies a more-likely-than-not recognition threshold and determines the measurement of uncertain tax positions considering the amounts and probabilities of the outcomes that could be realized upon ultimate settlement with taxing authorities. Crc analyzed its tax positions taken on its federal tax returns for the open tax years 2019 through 2021, and did not note any matters that would require recognition or which may have an effect on its tax-exempt status.
