“The boulder county bar association serves boulder county, which includes the cities of boulder, erie, longmont, lafayette, louisville, nederland, lyons and superior. The activities of the boulder county bar association are designed to help promote access to justice in boulder county and cordial relations between members of the bar. The association meets for dinner and discussion at least five times per year for our judge's dinner, president's dinner, annual meeting and dinner, and other networking and educational events. The bar also sponsors an annual event each year for the colorado legal aid foundation and raises funds to help support legal services agencies providing legal representation to the poor throughout colorado. The association publishes a monthly newsletter which is sent electronically and posted on the bar's website for all members. The newsletter contains information about upcoming events, practical tips on the practice of law in boulder county, news and procedures from the 20th judicial district courts, and general national, state and local information of interest to members in the bar. The bar association membership is organized into many committees. The bar is also organized into several substantive law sections which meet monthly and provide topical lunches and continuing legal education opportunities to the members. Sections include: alternative dispute resolution, bankruptcy, business law, civil litigation, criminal law, elder law, employment law, family law, immigration, intellectual property, medical/legal, natural resources/environmental law, real estate, tax, estate planning and probate, young lawyers and corporate counsel. General interest programs are coordinated annually for the membership to provide cle credit in trial skills, ethics, professional liability, technology and law practice management, and a mentor/mentee program to assist new lawyers in their practice. The bar assocation provides volunteer and public service opportunities to its members and to the community. Projects include: the bar coordinates with boulder county legal services to provide attorneys who volunteer to take pro bono cases. The bar and court coordinate online free legal help for boulder county residents. The bar also has volunteer attorneys who preside over the access to justice committee that works closely with the judicial department to provide legal services to the underprivileged in boulder county. The bar's website, www.boulder-bar.org, offers current legal information on legal resources and find a lawyer to help people choose legal representation. The calendar of events, monthly newsletters and current judicial opinions and state and national legal information updates are posted for members of the bar. A bar/media manual is on the site to assist reporters in covering the courts accurately in criminal and civil trials. There is detailed information regarding current court issues and judicial information. The adr directory of mediators and arbitrators in boulder county, located on the bar's website, as well as the 20th jd and the colorado judicial websites, is updated annually by the bar to be a resource for the court and the public. The membership receives a monday morning e-brief announcing weekly events and important legal issues that are planned for the week. The bar's website is an extensive resource for the public and members. All the events are posted and lawyers have the ability to sign up for programs via the website and pay by credit card. Legal resources and find a lawyer are available on the website for the public to receive help with questions and for finding legal representation. Line 4d, other program services: member social events: 14 events these events provide the boulder legal community an opportunity to network and develop professional relationships. One annual event is specifically for raising funds for legal service of colorado, and one of the events is solely for recognition of the judicial offi”
