Mission

Advocating for independence and inclusion, tre partners with children and adults who have a variety of disabilities, delays, mental health or long-term care needs. We do this using a person-centered approach in coordinating care, promoting choices, and collaborating with community partners.

The Resource Exchange builds independence for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Center is operated as a nonprofit organization exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Center recognizes tax liabilities when, despite the Center's belief that its tax return positions are supportable, the Center believes that certain positions may not be fully sustained upon review by tax authorities. Benefits from tax positions are measured at the largest amount of benefit that is greater than fifty percent likely of being realized upon settlement. The Center has concluded there is no tax liability or benefit required to be recorded as of June 30, 2017.

TRE provides services such as speech therapy and physical or occupational therapy. Services are provided at no cost to families. In 2017, TRE served approximately 1,908 infants and toddlers in EI. 30% of the children in this program will "graduate and will not need special supports for the rest of their lives.
