The executive committee shall assist the board in managing sna on issues that are time sensitive between official board meetings and, in such cases, shall have the authority of the board provided that the executive committee does not alter or act contrary to established board policies. The executive committee shall also carry out tasks referred to it by the board. Actions of the executive committee shall be communicated to the board at the next board meeting.”

“Conflict of interest statements are signed annually by board of directors. Standards of business conduct is sent to potential board members prior to submitting name to the leadership development committee. Board of directors and the ceo monitor the adherence to the policy. Conflict issues are brought forth to the ethics committee and the process includes review of situation and advisement of required action so that conflict no longer exists. This could include a member being removed from the discussion or resigning from the board.”

“For the ceo's compensation and all staff, the organization uses an independent compensation consultant to conduct a salary review of market data for non-profit associations of like size located in the washington, dc area. This process recently took place in 2023. For all staff, an independent compensation consultant conducted a market salary review. The consulting group provided guidance as to how to roll data into future periods to ensure sna's salaries are within market. Dollars are included in the annual operating budget approved by the board of directors to allow for adjustments. Sna's ceo reviewed the market salary data and approves market adjustments based on dollars budgeted and available to support such adjustments. This process took place in 2023 for all staff and as staff position are vacated they are reassess by consultant to confirm current market salary.”
