Mission

Our Valley Our Future is a collaborative non-profit organization that brings together residents and organizations to improve the region's quality of life. Its guiding document is its Action Plan which includes more than 86 projects and 6 game changers led by partnering organizations. Our Valley Our Future serves as a convener facilitator data-collector planner and communicator. All of 2021 was spent gathering data and putting together the new Action Plan for 2022-2026. Launch Date was March 23 2022.

Part III, line 2

“Due to Covid-19 our organization was asked to assist in putting together a Latinx Communications Network. Its purpose was to get necessary Health and Service information dispersed throughout our valley to our Latinx Community. Not only was the information gathered but it was always dispersed in both English and Spanish. This was done by collaborating with other Latinx agencies and expanding their networks all around the community at large and also reaching out to individuals who also had large networks of their own. It was found that the trust one has with its own small group has the best chance of reaching the largest number of people. We were ultimately able to reach a much larger audience and get the message out about what do about Covid-19 and what resources were available for food PPE and whatever else was needed. These memos were done daily for most of 2020 - and moved to weekly later during the year as determined by need. We continue to support the messages weekly.”

Worked with the Chelan-Douglas Health District and our two hospitals to keep the Latinx community informed and educated - masking social distancing where to get help rental assistance and how to stay safe and well. Initially it came out daily and tapered to weekly and is still being managed in 2021.
