Convened a group of six community partner organizations to successfully receive a covid collaboration grant from united way for which the st. Suzanne cody rouge community resource center placed care calls to residents, provided local store gift certificates, provided ppe, and hosted safely distanced outdoor functions and distributions. Hosted twice-monthly food distributions during the pandemic, for the first time, from gleaners community food bank and forgotten harvest. Managed a community clothes closet staffed by volunteers who receive excess clothing and some household and personal items and distributes the items in a dignified, boutique setting. Hosted an extension of wi-fi coverage to the outer campus to allow residents, families and students free wifi access. Organized three stormwater management/green infrastructure educational programs, for middle school students, high school students, and adults through a workforce development program which resulted in program completions, installations of three rain gardens and diversion of flood/storm water from municipal sewage systems. Partnered with detroit future city and adult training program in heavy equipment operation resulting in de-paving 7,200 sf of underutilized and deteriorating parking lot space. Managed the overall facility operations. Procured all led lighting instruments for internal and external facilities. Hosted: election precinct voting site, community meetings, city of detroit functions, senior citizens workshops, 7-step program, block clubs, recreation programs, bazaars and family gatherings. Effectively rented space to: state-licensed childcare, federal head start/early head start program, city council district office, neighborhood cdc, youth development programs, census trainers, city planning youth initiative. Hosted art muralling program for youth in conjunction with college for creative studies. Made capital improvements and preventative maintenance to facility. Hosted a community water day. Hosted college graduate service corps placements in field of study. Secured little free library. Provided community computer lab. Engaged all center program providers around synergy in conjunction with um school of social work. Hosted weekly educator appreciation days. Hosted youth basketball leagues including new peace players. Maintained evening and weekend hours. Received volunteer support from a number of organizations including knights of columbus local 58 ibew catholic heart work camp st. Catherine of siena notre dame urban plunge university of michigan um school of social work
