Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The mission of Musically Fed is to mobilize the music industry in the fight against hunger. We work with artists, promoters, management and venues nationwide to donate unused backstage meals to community organizations that feed the homeless, hungry and food insecure. Musically Fed identifies the opportunities, procures the resources, and coordinates all aspects of food handling, transport, and distribution. Our daily goal is to make it easy for promoters and performers to leave each city they visit with a lasting positive impact. Over the past four years, our Phoenix-based non-profit has provided meals to thousands in need across America. Contributions enables us to grow.

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 2

Due to Covid-19 live events stopped entirely. Music Industry gig workers found themselves in-need. The gig worker, the stagehand, sound & light workers, songwriters, the seasonal worker suddenly had no income and no way to support themselves or their families. Musically Fed shifted attention from repurposing catering to raising donations to supply meals and essentials to the behind the scenes workers at live events.

IRS990/Desc0The Pandemic Initiative came as result of concert cancellations due to Covid-19. Musically Fed successfully shifted from repurposing backstage concert catering to the food insecure, to organizing food drive thrus for out-of-work backline and gig workers. Musically Fed provided 300,000 meals in 6 cities across the nation as a way to give back to the behind the scenes music industry unemployed--Anahiem, Phoenix, Atlanta, Minnesota, Denver, and Austin. In addition, 3400 essential items were distributed to gig worker families and over 18,000 lbs of food items were collected and distributed.

IRS990/MissionDesc0The mission of Musically Fed is to mobilize the music industry in the fight against hunger. Your support enables us to grow.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0Due to Covid-19 live events stopped entirely. Music Industry gig workers found themselves in-need. The gig worker, the stagehand, sound & light workers, songwriters, the seasonal worker suddenly had no income and no way to support themselves or their families.
