Mission

Every Shelter exists to relieve suffering and grow resilience for those displaced by war, persecution, and disaster through the design, creation, and delivery of shelter products.

Every Shelter provides clean, insulated floors to refugees living in shelters. Every Shelter partners with refugee relief organizations to design and implement novel, new solutions by collaborating with our refugees and our field partners.

The draft 990 is presented to the Treasurer of the Board for review and approval prior to providing a copy of the 990 to the entire board prior to filing the 990 with the IRS.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts

Each director signs a statement annually at the first meeting of the fiscal year which affirms that the director has received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, understands the content and agrees to comply with the conflict of interest policy. In the event of a conflict the board follows the procedures for addressing the conflict as provided in the conflict of interest policy. A conflicted member may make a presentation at the Board of Directors or committee meeting, but after the presentation must leave the meeting during deliberations and voting on the matter in conflict.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 15A: Compensation Review & Approval Process - CEO, Top Management

Compensation for the CEO was initially determined and approved by the Board's Treasurer. A survey of like organizations was conducted to make sure that the CEO compensation was comparable to like organization's CEO. Budgetary considerations were also applied. The CEO's compensation is set considerably below other Xlike" organizations for the time being while the organization is still young and gaining traction.

Compensation for other officers reached by matching hourly rates of compensation levels from past employers where they worked in similar roles. Budgetary considerations were also applied to determine compensation.
