THE STUDY CONCLUDED THAT JULIUS ROSENWALD AND THE ROSENWALD SCHOOLS ARE OF NATIONAL HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE AND THAT THE SAN DOMINGO SCHOOL IN SHARPTON, MD, IS A GOOD CANDIDATE TO BE A NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE. THE CAMPAIGN WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE NATIONAL PARKS CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION AND THE NATIONAL RELIGIOUS PARTNERSHIP FOR THE ENVIRONMENT TO GET LEGISLATION INTRODUCED IN CONGRESS TO ESTABLISH THE JULIUS ROSENWALD AND ROSENWALD SCHOOLS NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK. LEGISLATION THAT INCLUDED THE SAN DOMINGO SCHOOL, A SITE TO BE DETERMINED IN CHICAGO FOR A VISITOR CENTER AND A NETWORK OF ROSENWALD SCHOOLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PARK WAS INTRODUCED ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2024, BY SENATOR RICHARD DURBIN IN THE SENATE AND BY REPRESENTATIVE DANNY DAVIS IN THE HOUSE. ONCE THE PARK IS ESTABLISHED THE CAMPAIGN WILL BECOME THE FRIENDS GROUP FOR IT.

THREE MEMBERS OF HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CHELLIE PINGREE OF ME, STEVE COHEN OF TN AND JAMIE RASKIN OF MD - MADE OPENING REMARKS, THE CAMPAIGN'S FILM WAS SHOWN, AND A PANEL DISCUSSION CONCLUDED THE PROGRAM. IN 2024 THE CAMPAIGN COMPLETED THE STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS INITIATED IN THE LAST MONTHS OF 2023. IN 2024 SHARON DAVIES, PRESIDENT OF THE KETTERING FOUNDATION, JOINED THE CAMPAIGN BOARD. SHE HAD PREVIOUSLY SERVED ON THE CAMPAIGN ADVISORY COUNCIL.
