“Once the 990 is prepared and drafted, the form is reviewed by the organization's management. The members of the Finance Department will answer any questions/concerns that the initial reviewers may have and consult with an outside tax professional if necessary. After a full review and making any necessary changes, the final draft of the 990 is provided to all members of the organization's voting body. A representative of management authorizes the final form 990 which is then e-filed with the Internal Revenue Service.”

The process for Emerge America is as follows: Members of the Board of Directors review the compensation of all high-level personnel periodically in accordance with IRS rules and regulations. Efforts are made to secure compensation data from industry sources in order to determine competitiveness and appropriateness of salaries. Every effort is made to ensure that the process is thorough and transparent in accordance with IRS guidelines and the organizations internal policies and procedures. Compensation of other key employees is reviewed periodically by members of management. All decisions are documented in personnel files.”

“All of the organization's governing documents, financial statements, and other legal filings are maintained in a secure environment and held available for inspection by tax authorities and the general public. They are also available for physical inspection at the organization's office in Washington DC.”

“In 2022 WLE hosted its signature program, WLE Gathers, virtually and in-person in Las Vegas, NV with 40 WLE Fellows attending. WLE is the place for leadership development for self identifying women and nonbinary people within the New American Majority (NAM). This means people from a wide range of identities, backgrounds, experiences and geographic regions of the country. WLE works to shift the narratives about leadership, setting boundaries, self investment, self care and bringing these knowledge bases to communities that are often underserved and underrepresented. WLE Gathers met the needs of Belonging, Empowerment, Transformation and delivered services of Leadership Training, Mentoring, Continuing Education and Affinity Circles of Connection. In the first two Gathers trainings, we had 40 Fellows ranging in ages 21-65 - with 87.5% identifying as POC, 10% identifying as nonbinary, 25% identifying as LGBTQIA+, 52.5% were under the age of 35, and all representing 11 states and the District of Columbia. WLE recruited and trained 55 people from the NAM and communities of color to serve as mentors and individually matched them with WLE Fellows upon completion of the WLE Gathers program. Over 60% of WLE Mentors are members of NAM and all mentors and mentees made and completed commitments to meet one-on-one at least four times a year in person or virtually.”
