“2025 was a year of transformation for union hall. Board member ashley geisel stepped into a leadership role as interim executive director, providing stability and strategic direction while a national search for a permanent executive director was conducted - ultimately sigri strand was offered and accepted the position at the end of 2025. During ashley geisel's leadership period, union hall received our first grant award from the residents of the scientific and cultural facilities district, a significant milestone for our young nonprofit that signaled public trust and confidence. Union hall consulted fundraising expert hannah ronan- daniell during the leadership transition as well, focusing efforts into maximizing sustainable actions for which our board and staff members can utilize for years to come. Over the past year, we continued to serve as a platform for the creative community by staging five visual art exhibitions, two of which were organized by union hall's chief curator, esther hernandez, and featured a total of 9 local artists. These exhibitions received five positive reviews in various local media outlets, marking union hall's cultural and creative value within the city's arts ecosystem. The navajo family exhibition, biyl, was named one of the top art exhibits of 2025 by international art critic ray rinaldi in the denver post. Hernandez also mentored a cohort of three curators and by extension 18 artists, through our rough gems curatorial program, which provides financial resources and professional development for emerging curators to produce original and innovative exhibitions. Union hall launched a partner activation program in 2025, with the inaugural partnership consisting of a digital media exhibition guest curated by sarah biagini of mimesis documentary festival, in collaboration with denver digerati. In an effort to continue serving as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and professional development, union hall hosted several events as a part of colorado startup week. Union hall also invested in marketing efforts in the business and tourism industry with memberships and pitches to the colorado business committee for the arts and visit denver.”
