Mission

NCCCO Foundation, Inc. (the "Charity") is an educational, scientific, and charitable organization. The mission of the Charity is to foster the health, safety and well-being of persons working on and with, and persons, including the general public, in the general proximity of, cranes and other lifting equipment, through the education of (a) persons involved in the operation and maintenance of lifting equipment, (b) persons and organizations involved in the management, training and certification of persons involved in the operation and maintenance of lifting equipment, (c) persons and organizations involved in the design and manufacture of lifting equipment and (d) persons and organizations involved in the regulation of the operation, maintenance, design and manufacture of lifting equipment.

To foster the health, safety and well-being of persons working on and with, and persons, including the general public, in the general proximity of, cranes and other lifting equipment.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11B

The Form 990 is prepared by an outside accountant and reviewed by the Foundation's Chief Executive Officer. Once finalized, it is forwarded to the Foundation's Secretary/Treasurer for review. Finally, each Board member is provided a copy of the Form 990 and discussion is scheduled on the agenda of the next Board meeting. Any questions raised at that time are responded to, or referred to the Foundation's professional advisors for clarification if necessary.

Form 990, Part III, Line 1, Description of Organization Mission:

The mission of the Charity is to foster the health, safety and well-being of persons working on and with, and persons, including the general public, in the general proximity of, cranes and other lifting equipment, through the education of (a) persons involved in the operation and maintenance of lifting equipment, (b) persons and organizations involved in the management, training and certification of persons involved in the operation and maintenance of lifting equipment, (c) persons and organizations involved in the design and manufacture of lifting equipment and (d) persons and organizations involved in the regulation of the operation, maintenance, design and manufacture of lifting equipment. The Charity works to raise awareness of health and safety issues caused by the operation of lifting equipment by persons who are not aware of best practices or properly trained in the safe operation and maintenance of such equipment and of the importance of testing and certification of such persons to confirm mastery of the practices and skills necessary for the safe operation of lifting equipment. Through its SIREN initiative (Safety, Information, Research and Education Network) the Charity conducts, and provides financing for, research directed at the safe operation of lifting equipment and at improving the quality of the testing of persons purporting to be skilled in the safe operation of lifting and other equipment. The Charity also seeks to provide access to educational programming on safe practices in the lifting industry and access to certification testing for the operation of lifting equipment for underserved populations who encounter financial barriers to accessing such programming or certification testing.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The mission of the Charity is to foster the health, safety and well-being of persons working on and with, and persons, including the general public, in the general proximity of, cranes and other lifting equipment, through the education of (a) persons involved in the operation and maintenance of lifting equipment, (b) persons and organizations involved in the management, training and certification of persons involved in the operation and maintenance of lifting equipment, (c) persons and organizations involved in the design and manufacture of lifting equipment and (d) persons and organizations involved in the regulation of the operation, maintenance, design and manufacture of lifting equipment. The Charity works to raise awareness of health and safety issues caused by the operation of lifting equipment by persons who are not aware of best practices or properly trained in the safe operation and maintenance of such equipment and of the importance of testing and certification of such persons to confirm mastery of the practices and skills necessary for the safe operation of lifting equipment. Through its SIREN initiative (Safety, Information, Research and Education Network) the Charity conducts, and provides financing for, research directed at the safe operation of lifting equipment and at improving the quality of the testing of persons purporting to be skilled in the safe operation of lifting and other equipment. The Charity also seeks to provide access to educational programming on safe practices in the lifting industry and access to certification testing for the operation of lifting equipment for underserved populations who encounter financial barriers to accessing such programming or certification testing.

Once finalized, it is forwarded to the Foundation's Secretary/Treasurer for review. Finally, each Board member is provided a copy of the Form 990 and discussion is scheduled on the agenda of the next Board meeting. Any questions raised at that time are responded to, or referred to the Foundation's professional advisors for clarification if necessary.
