“The orchestra was founded on the belief that, "great music should be available to everyone", and based on a threefold: to enrich the cultural lives of adults, expand the musical horizons of children and provide an outlet for the creative talents of musicians living in northeast and central wyoming. The powder river symphony also provides educational outreach into the schools with visiting professional artists and development for music education programs.”

“Participants who have benefited from the concert season include volunteer and local musicians from northeastern wyoming, guest artists, paid regional musicians, prso volunteer board members, orchestra administrators, school children in the campbell county schools and the general public. An estimated total of those listed above, including the listening audience from public access television, is approximately 40,000.”
