Our mission is to responsibly mobilize and leverage community resources to create long-term changes that produce healthy, educated and financially stable individuals and families in laramie county. To do this we will: o ignite our community, and thereby mobilize people who live and work in laramie county to action to give, advocate and volunteer; o connect all sectors of society - individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations and governments - to create long term change; o raise, invest and leverage the funds to create and support innovative programs and approaches to generate sustained impact in laramie county; o continually measure improvement in laramie county in the areas of education, income and health; o hold ourselves accountable to our community.

“United way of laramie county leads the only community schools program in the state of wyoming. With a vision that all students come to school ready to learn, community schools is a strategy for organizing community resources around student success. Started in 2017 at cole and hebard elementary school, this united way of laramie county initiative thus far has collaborated with more than 40 different organizations to provide services to the families and students. We are currently working directly with students and families directly at cole and arp elementary schools but are available to all title 1 schools when assistance is needed. Our program also helps school staff coordinate steam, stem, literary nights, job fairs and parent engagement nights and more.”
“United way of laramie county vita program (volunteer income tax assistance) is the only year-round vita program in the state of wyoming. This program provides 'free' tax preparation services to families who earn 67,000 or less a year, persons with disabilities, and limited-english-speaking taxpayers. Through the program, united way has approximately 39 irs- certified volunteers who work with participants at multiple sites across laramie county to ensure proper tax credits are utilized during the filing process, then they file and set up direct-deposit participants' refunds also for free.”
