“Section 3.6 of bylaws: active/inactive members: coalition representation shall consist of a broad range of members and will not be limited by number to include as diverse representation of the city of beech grove and its surrounding communities as possible. 1) active members are fully engaged in coalition activities and are expected to follow membership responsiblities as listed on the coalition involvement agreement they signed when becoming a member. 2) inactive members must notify cdfc executive director that they will be taking a break from coalition involvement for a given period, but will still receive coalition correspondence (meeting invites, agenda, minutes, etc.). Section 3.7: voting 1) voting on policy, procedures, or action items: only "active" members are permitted to vote on coalition official business.”

“Beech grove youth prevention initiative provide educational information - participated in 3 medicine take back days, 3 fairs/parades, 2 service recognition events - 4,554 trifolds & 800 youth coloring pictures/stickers disseminated. Provided education information to youth- afterschool four week program for 27 adolescents found with tobacco and vaping products. Provide support - 32 student "change for the future" youth coalition created with partner, which acts as a resource for students. Enhance access/reduce barriers - distributed 2,896 deterra at home medicine disposal pouches and distributed 4,554 refrigerator whiteboards with suicide hotline numbers. Changed consequences - developed a neighborhood watch program with local pd to curb illicit substance behavior and violence, covering 164 apartment units for over 470 tenants. Evaluate design of buildings for concealing drug trafficking, bullying, and violence. Modify/change policies - worked with local school system to make institutional changes for anti-tobacco & vaping policies.”
