“990 REVIEW PROCESS. The Finance Committee will review the draft 990, and then present it to the full Board for approval. If any changes are made during discussions, the final 990 will be emailed to all board members before filing.”

“CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY MONITORING. The conflict of interest policy covers officers, directors, members of committees of the board, and employees. Determinations of whether a conflict exists and the review of actual conflicts are made at the board level. If the board determines that a conflict exists, it shall follow these procedures. The interested person may make a presentation to the board, but will recuse themselves from any vote on the transaction involving the conflict. The board will investigate alternatives to the proposed arrangement. After exercising due diligence, the board shall determine whether the transaction is fair to the corporation. The transaction must be approved by a majority of a quorum of the board who have no direct or indirect interest in the transaction.”

In each state, AHB combined voter participation activities with capacity building support, augmenting staff and leadership development and training and filling in gaps as needed This included a coaching/mentorship program, with each program tailored to the organizations needs. For canvassing volunteers, AHB organized on deck crews of callers and texters for each state to make sure that every voter is registered and every vote is safely cast and counted.”

The coalition published a report What Students Need In a Time of COVID Community and Technical Colleges as the Path to Equity and Recovery that included a summary of a statewide survey of students and 11 stories that highlighted the need for full-time faculty to help coach, tutor and mentor students, addressing the specific equity needs on each campus and the development of localized action plans, increasing the diversity of the faculty, ensuring that students have needed access to wrap-around services, etc”
