IRS990ScheduleC/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0Part II B 1.a. Our board is all volunteer and participated in the lobbying effort for the New Mexico Early Childhood Amendment to be passed. The first part of the campaign was education only and we followed the funder's requirements on timing of lobbying and strict rules around scripting for both volunteers and contractors. Part II B 1.b. Technically, we do not have any employees on staff, but rely on independent contractors for all our organization's work that is compensated. I could have answered "no" to this question, but I can see an argument for answering "yes" in the spirit of what could have been meant by "staff and did so here. Part II B 1.c. Media advertisement: We used social media posts and did not incur costs. Part II B 1.d. We used mailings to the general public. Never directly to legislators in their official capacity. They may have received our materials by being part of the general public on our mailing lists. Another group paid for the materials. Part II B 1.e. We used our email to promote the campaign with vetted and developed messaging from the funder with no cost. Part II B 1.h. We held family engagement events to encourage voting for the amendment in the allowed time frame and spending limits. Part II B 1.i.
