Mission

The msk experience is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to empowering, motivating and educating middle and high school girls and young women in ways that encourage them to live their best lives regardless of their socio-economic status or background. Our goal is to dismantle the misguided notions created by a society that tears down, divides and discourages and challenges girls and young women to change the narrative by creating a community that is truly stronger together. The unique idea behind the msk experience is that we are one female-focused organization dedicated to serving the needs of two distinct populations; middle and high school girls. We meet our objectives by providing intentional experiences specially curated for girls and young women. For our younger ladies, we have an amazing after school mentoring program with a facilitated trauma-informed curriculum and workshops designed just for girls. Our goal is to dismantle the misguided notions created by a society that tears down, divides and discourages and challenges girls and young women to change the narrative by creating a community that is truly stronger together. We meet our objectives by providing intentional experiences specially curated for girls and young women. For our young women, we have monthly outings and events that meet the unique needs of young women that always promote sisterhood and togetherness. One of the primary tenets of our organization is 'lifting as we climb'. This phrase proclaims the principle of collective effort and reinforces the concept that as we each reach higher plateaus in life, it is imperative that that pattern of success be shared with other young women in our lives; that we share our stories and our lessons with those who would be heirs of the same promise. In short that we give as much as we get.

We have discontinued our women's program in georgia.

Our program expanded into tri cities hs where we facilitated a program for 25 girls with 2 trained volunteer facilitators. Our first school sandy creek returned for another program year with another 25 girls and 3 trained volunteer facilitators. Each club met for 1 day per week for 1 hour and 30 minutes. In addition to the weekly meetings, 1 event outside of school per month was made available. One of our community partners astrel bookkeeping donated workshops once per month to each program site on budgeting basics, personal finance, financial literacy and business basics. We hosted the first ever father's day field day in our county. We rented space at the local park and invited families and children to come enjoy a free day of fun. We worked with the local fire department to bring a fire truck, face painter, several vendors and food trucks and brought together local businesses who sponsored the event. We raised money from sponsorships and vendor table sales to put on the event and saw approximately 100 people through the "doors."

OUR FIRST SCHOOL SANDY CREEK RETURNED FOR ANOTHER PROGRAM YEAR WITH ANOTHER 25 GIRLS AND 3 TRAINED VOLUNTEER FACILITATORS. EACH CLUB MET FOR 1 DAY PER WEEK FOR 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES. IN ADDITION TO THE WEEKLY MEETINGS, 1 EVENT OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL PER MONTH WAS MADE AVAILABLE. ONE OF OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS ASTREL BOOKKEEPING DONATED WORKSHOPS ONCE PER MONTH TO EACH PROGRAM SITE ON BUDGETING BASICS, PERSONAL FINANCE, FINANCIAL LITERACY AND BUSINESS BASICS. WE HOSTED THE FIRST EVER FATHER'S DAY FIELD DAY IN OUR COUNTY. WE RENTED SPACE AT THE LOCAL PARK AND INVITED FAMILIES AND CHILDREN TO COME ENJOY A FREE DAY OF FUN. WE WORKED WITH THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT TO BRING A FIRE TRUCK, FACE PAINTER, SEVERAL VENDORS AND FOOD TRUCKS AND BROUGHT TOGETHER LOCAL BUSINESSES WHO SPONSORED THE EVENT. WE RAISED MONEY FROM SPONSORSHIPS AND VENDOR TABLE SALES TO PUT ON THE EVENT AND SAW APPROXIMATELY 100 PEOPLE THROUGH THE "DOORS."
