As a result of our expansion in editorial, we not only enhanced in-depth explanatory journalism, but we also increased average monthly output to 250 articles per month from 190. Our newly acquired education reporter has written over 150 articles about our education system. Our new health reporter has published more than 125 articles about the state of health in Louisville, covering changes in Medicaid and news about acute flaccid myelitis, a mysterious illness affecting area children. This breakdown shows news stories written in 2018 focused on the proposed critical topics: 591 on the local economy 918 on local culture 521 on local government 301 on local education 227 on local health The impact of adding editorial resources and changing our mission has been positive, as we anticipated.
