WE ALSO STARTED A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH BRINSHORE DEVELOPMENT TO WORK TOGETHER IN THE WESTHAVEN PARK COMMUNITY TO HELP BRING JOBS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO THIS COMMUNITY.IN EDUCATION, OUR PROGRAM OF SCHOOL DAY AND AFTERSCHOOL MENTORING EXPANDED SIGNIFICANTLY ALONG WITH OUR PARTNER CHURCHES VOLUNTEERISM IN THIS INITIATIVE. WE HAD SOME MEASURABLE ACADEMIC IMPROVEMENT IN A NUMBER OF THE SCHOOLS AND CLASSROOMS WE WERE INVOLVED IN.IN VIOLENCE REDUCTION, WE CONTINUED OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL PASTORS AS WELL AS THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT. MULTIPLE PASTORS WERE TRAINED IN DOING CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS AND PEACEFUL LOITERING. WE HAD SUCCESS IN CONTINUING TO HELP THOSE WE MET THROUGH THE CUSTOM NOTIFICATION PROCESS IN FINDING JOBS, CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION AND GENERAL LIFE COACHING AND MENTORING.IN FAITH COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION, THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPATING CHURCHES IN OUR NETWORK CONTINUED TO GROW. WE HAD A MAJOR COMMUNITY PRAYER EVENT THIS YEAR AT ONE OF OUR PARTNER CHURCHES WHERE OVER 1,500 PARTICIPATED IN A TIME OF PRAYER FOR OUR CITY.THIS YEAR, WE STARTED A NEW PROGRAM SERVICE AREA CALLED GOSPEL JUSTICE CENTERS. IN THIS PROGRAM AREA WE HELP ATTRACT ATTORNEYS WHO ARE WILLING TO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME TO HELP THOSE WITH LEGAL NEEDS. WE PARTNER WITH LOCAL CHURCHES WHO ARE WILLING TO INVITE THE COMMUNITY AROUND THEIR CHURCH TO GET THE LEGAL HELP THEY NEED AT SCHEDULED COMMUNITY EVENTS. THESE EVENTS TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY MORNINGS IN OUR PARTNER CHURCH LOCATIONS. WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE RAPID GROWTH IN THIS AREA.
