“The treasurer contracts with a licensed c.p.a. Firm on behalf of the organization to prepare form 990. The treasurer provides all necessary information to complete the form to the independent tax preparer. The tax preparer provides a draft of form 990 to be reviewed by the executive committee. The executive committee provides comments to the tax preparer. The tax preparer makes changes as appropriate and prepares the final return. The tax preparer provides the final form to the treasurer. The treasurer presents the final form to the full board of directors. The board of directors approves the final form 990 before the form is filed by the tax preparer.”
