“In 2020, dhit global received a grant from the north carolina policy collaboratory to create community confidence, a decision support tool for government and community leaders to understand the state of health in their communities and simulate potential opportunities for improvement. The 917,360 grant paid for 6 months of research, development, community engagement, and program promotion. The free service launched in december 2020 for 7 counties in north carolina. Thus far, the online tool has been visited by over 2,500 people and dhit global staff have done demonstrations and webinar training sessions to over 1,000 north carolinians to use the tool. There is 61,898 difference in the grant is due to reporting on a cash basis. The full grant amount was 917,360. We received 855,462 of that in 2020 and 61,898 of it in 2021.”

“In april 2020, dhit global launched a free virtual webinar series, the dhit frequency, inviting public health and innovation experts from academia and industry to dig deep into how digital health could be used to address health concerns caused or aggravated by the covid-19 pandemic. These moderated panel discussions were offered with free registration, and then recordings and blog summaries were posted to the dhit global website for later viewing. The dhit frequency ran 14 episodes from april 2020-november 2020, for 1,225 registered viewers. As part of this effort, dhit global collaborated with another nonprofit university-based partner, the assist center at north carolina state university to launch a virtual incubator program for attendees of dhit frequency webinars to submit ideas to address health concerns caused or aggravated by the covid-19 pandemic. From may 2020 to august 2020, dhit global and the assist center partnered with crowdicity, an online platform that allowed teams to submit ideas and allowed the community to see them, vote on their favorites, and make comments to further improve and refine them. Final ideas were submitted and reviewed by a panel of subject matter experts. Of 14 participating teams, one grand prize winner received a cash prize of 5,000 while 6 others got the opportunity to pitch their idea to industry partners. Expenses for the program consisted of the 5,000 grand prize contributed by pfizer digital, a zoom webinar license of 140 per month (1,120 total) contributed by bluedoor llc, and a free license to the crowdicity platform (market value unknown).”
