“We provided multi-day training sessions and ongoing support to water management teams in the following eight communities Totora, Antaccasa, Ccollana, Ccorca centro poblado, Nueva Urbanization, Rumaray, Tamborpujio, and Ccoyac. Training sessions cover topics like water collection, treatment, distribution, storage, and more. They also include hands-on activities like deep cleaning of equipment, diagnostic of current infrastructure, monitoring water quality and development of an annual operating budget. We also provided WASH water, sanitation, and hygiene workshops in five schools in the communities of Totora, Ccorca centro poblado, Ccollana, Rumaray, and Huillcapata. Our WASH workshops cover fundamental topics like the water cycle, but also include active learning opportunities like handwashing, water-focused coloring books, QA with the schoolkids, and more. It is our goal to inspire and educate the kids about the importance of clean water and sanitation and the role of water managers in their communities. This year, our Executive Director led a trip to the Cusco region that included 12 volunteers, four of which served as engaged student interns. We also had many US-based volunteers contributing, behind the scenes, to our clean water mission. Lastly, we continued to strengthen our local relationships with key individuals and partners that have enabled an increased level of continuity and quality of our human-centered solutions. Thanks to our community of volunteers, students, donors, and more, we were able to empower over 500 multi-generational families across nine communities in the Cusco region.”
