Hawaii rise foundation has partnered with ok farms to provide community supported agriculture (csa) boxes to the kupuna in various hawaii island communities. Each box is filled with a variety of seasonal fruits, vegetables, and starches, all grown locally here in hawaii. Through this program, we will be able to serve 680 different kupuna all around hawaii island, as well as support our local agriculture community simultaneously. 18 different local farms are supported through this program. Kamehameha schools hawaii kula kauwela 5th grade students program titled: ho`okipa 808 ola ka aina, ola ke kanaka when the land is well, so are its people what is the health of our spaces? Students research the trends and impacts of tourism on our aina, economy, community, and host culture. Is hawaii a playground for others? As keiki economists and futurists, haumana debate different perspectives and take responsible action. Program outcomes include (but are not limited to): learn of the mo`oku`auhau of the hotel and the `aina, tour of property and the surroundings, engage in conversations about tourism, learn the demographics of the people who visit scp. Haumana are put into groups and are required to select a project to work on. The students have come to realize that tourists need to be informed and educated about the following topics: ocean safety, hawaiian protocol, introduction to hawaiian arts and crafts, place names, `aina spaces, history, etc. Students get to share out their projects at scp offering mini workshops, seminars, lessons, activities, etc. For the tourist/guests. Scp hilo hotel x hawaii rise foundation, in partnership with keaukaha general store and haku collective, are thrilled to announce the 2023 mele manaka community celebration. Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

Hawaii rise foundation is exempt from federal income taxes pursuant to internal revenue code section 501(c)(3), and exempt from state income taxes under section 237-23(b) of the hawaii revised statutes. Therefore no provision for federal or state income taxes is required for the financial statements. The accounting standard on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed or expected to be claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the financial statements. Under that guidance, the organization may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities based on the technical merits of the position. Examples of tax positions include the tax-exempt status of the organization and various positions related to the potential sources of unrelated business taxable income (ubit). The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position are measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50% likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. There were no unrecognized tax benefits identified or recorded as liabilities for fiscal years 2023 and 2022. The organization files its forms 990 in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction and the office of the attorney general for the state of hawaii. The organization is generally no longer subject to examination by the internal revenue service for years before 2020.
