Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Fti was formed to educate building industry professionals and to conduct research on the topic of building facades and facade systems. Building facades combine considerations of performance and appearance, and enhancements to building facade (continue on schedule o) technology can make buildings safer, more energy-efficient and sustainable, more functional and comfortable for occupants, and more aesthetically pleasing.

The primary activities of the facade tectonics institute, inc. ( referred to as fti) (sch o con) include organizing conferences, forums and similar discussions among building industry professionals, including government officials, academics, architects, developers, owners, material suppliers and facade fabricators; conducting research into the latest building facade technologies; and publishing journal, scholarly articles, technical guides, research reports and books. Fti's conferences, activities, and publications will be available to members and non-members alike in order to benefit the building industry and the public at large, and to improve the appearance, energy efficiency, comfort, function and safety of building facades and facade systems.
