“During 2023, donated 644 calming kits and 93 synapsory snuggles (weighted blankets). The largest donations went to title 1 schools (st. Louis city), and the st. Charles county police department. Each received 100 calming kits. These calming kits contain a number of items that are used to help promote sensory regulation.”
“We conducted an 8 hour training session for a group of st. Louis county first responders. The title of the training was "bringing calm to chaos", and was designed to teach first responders how to approach and support special needs children and their families. As opposed to using violence, this training showed the first responders that there are other ways to work with these children and adults.”
“Sensory/motor rooms: using funding from the dana brown grant, we installed a state-of-the art sensory/motor room at brown elementary. This room will be used by the students that attend brown elementary and is designed to promote sensory regulation. In addition to donating the equipment for the room, we also helped to design the room, and coordinate the installation of equipment.”
