Building relationships of reconciliation for restorative justice. We focus on the restoration of health, environment, reconciliation, and equity with neighbors in northeast oklahoma city.
Restoreokc serves as a christian community development ministry providing the people of god with opportunities to manifest his love in oklahoma city by: seeking justice on behalf of the poor, oppressed, widow and fatherless as god's people--the church; freely expressing his mercy by sharing our lives and resources to seek restoration alongside our brothers and sisters in some of okc's poorest neighborhoods; humbly acknowledging the complexities of injustice, the roles we play in it, and its systematic effect so that we can build relationships of true reconciliation.

“A draft copy of the return is emailed to the executive director, who in turn emails it to the board members. Members are given one week to review and comment before the return is finalized.”
“Each director, principal officer and member of a committee with board delegated powers shall annually sign a statement which affirms such person: a. Has received a copy of the conflicts of interest policy; b. Has read and understands the policy; c. Has agreed to comply with the policy, and d. Understands restoreokc is charitable and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish one or more of its tax-exempt purposes.”
“Governing documents and the tax return will be made available on our website and the tax return will eventually be posted on guidestar.”
“Restoreokc serves as a christian community development ministry providing the people of god with opportunities to manifest his love in oklahoma city by: seeking justice on behalf of the poor, oppressed, widow and fatherless as god's people--the church; freely expressing his mercy by sharing our lives and resources to seek restoration alongside our brothers and sisters in some of okc's poorest neighborhoods; humbly acknowledging the complexities of injustice, the roles we play in it, and its systematic effect so that we can build relationships of true reconciliation.”
“Two roosters cleaning (wellspring cleaning company as of april 2019) wellspring cleaning company grew out of relationships built over many months of living in, loving and serving the ne okc community. As we developed friendships, what we heard and saw were the impossible circumstances that affect a huge part of our community. With an extremely high percentage of single-parent households, median incomes of under 15,000 and few economic opportunities, the odds for women and their children to break the cycle of poverty seemed slim at best. As we prayed and met together with women and parents from our community, the lord began a vision for a job-training ministry arm that would allow us to walk alongside women whose life factors made living-wage employment difficult. We wanted to see women set free to be the mothers that they longed to be through salaried-income employment that allowed them to be with their children on the evenings and weekends, begin to dream in community about their future, and learn valuable life skills. In partnership with re-merge & hope house we are able to serve single- mothers with an opportunity for employment, community support, and a path to self-sufficiency. 1. 11 adults/parents from the community were able to have stable, living- wage employment through our mens and womens job-training and economic development arms. 2. 5 of those 9 went on to complete and graduate from worklife a 20-week biblically-based job-training curriculum where they set aggressive goals with ally-support and accountability. 3. 3 of those were able to consolidate high-interest debt and pay it off so that they leave our program debt-free and closer to their life goals.”
“Freedom farms: freedoms farms & greenhouses is an economic development arm of restoreokc, inc. Done in partnership with langston university to work alongside urban youth to create jobs and mentoring opportunities that leverage the resources of the community and the members to bless, serve and create more opportunity for the community. We do this in three phases: 1. Classroom gardens: beginning at the elementary level teaching pre-k through 6th grade students the basic fundamentals of growing and develop an early relationship with students around maintaining their classroom garden bed donated by restoreokc directly to the elementary schools in partnership. 2. Community gardens: we maintain a community garden on our physical property that we steward and work in partnership with key community stakeholders. The produce from our edible acre is all shared with the community for free. 3. Employing students at the greenhouse/farm: middle & high school students are employed at the farm where they gain entrepreneurial skills while earning income for themselves and their families. Youth employees get paid a living-wage salary to work after-school and during the summer maintaining the gardens and delivering produce to those in need within the community and selling off the remainder for "profit" for the farm. Graduates of our program will have opportunities through langston university to go onto scholarship for high-education opportunities in related fields. In 2018, 1. More than 650 students were served by the classroom garden beds that were built for every classroom at our partner elementary schools. 2. More than 600 volunteer hours served in the community and school gardens including partnerships from odyssey leadership academy, who led 120 3rd-5th grade students in gardening and science exploration weekly at martin luther king elementary. 3. Established new key partnerships with: osu master gardeners, keto foundation, minick materials, noble foundation, channel 9, and oklahoma state ag-extension 4. Grew and gave away more than 700 pounds of veggies worth thousands of dollars that were grown in the community, by the community, for the community 5. Gained city approval to re-zone as an urban farm which will allow for us to partner at a deep level with langston university on our property to do 4-h programming, animal husbandry, and production in addition to greenhousing and aquaponics.”
“Workday: workday is an arm of restoreokc that makes basic home repairs for widows and seniors in the 73111 northeast oklahoma city community. As an organization we don't take state or federal funds, which allows us to meet the basic home repair needs of our seniors who are long-term homeowners or residents whose situations make them ineligible for other services and fall in the service gap. Many of the seniors & widows in northeast oklahoma city are low-income african-american homeowners who are at high- risk of not being able to stay in their home. Additionally, some have remained in their home well past the point that it is safe and have developed lung or health conditions due to mold exposure from significant water damage over decades. Lynn institute's lifestyle summary showed 85% of our community to be african-american, more than 40% "extremely low income- and over 20% of those are 65+. Lynn institute's "years of potential life lost (ypll)" measurement of community health showed that senior residents in northeast oklahoma city area die at significantly younger ages than the wider city due to preventable causes. Our zip code has a high percentage of homeowners who either still are the original homeowner or 2nd generation homeowners which is rooted in a history of redlining, unfair lending, or imminent domain that makes home ownership a huge deal in the black community and makes trust of state or federal agencies difficult at best. Our goal is to utilize our partnerships with other service-providers & the city of oklahoma city to make sure none of our seniors have an unmet need that could be met through the generosity of neighbors and have the opportunity to gather with community and share their wisdom. Once workday repairs are finished we walk with seniors in "community" through restoreokc's other arms, extending opportunities to gather with community youth to garden or attend weekly dance classes for 65+ at our offices taught by metrotech. When needed, we connect seniors to our partner, valir pace, for health needs that would allow them to age safely in their home. In 2018, this meant: 1. Repaired 5 homes back to livable standards for seniors who fell within a service gap that our partner providers rebuilding together, habitat, community action agency and the city of oklahoma city were unable to serve. 2. Served the 5 seniors with wrap-around care, community support, regular check-ins and connection to valir pace services for medical assistance to age in place where needed. 3. Put around ~150,000 of donated materials and labor back into the community. 4. Averaged 450 volunteers who served more than 4,000 hours valued at ~ 98,760. 5. Helped advocate and provide legal assistance for a senior to regain ownership of her home after unjustly selling it to a developer who took advantage of her. 6. Helped two seniors prevent costly city citations. 7. Developed 450 volunteers who were able to hear and experience in 3d what it means to love and care for your neighbor. 8. Established formal partnerships with: next step ministries, catholic heart work camp, heritage hall students, the black student associations of ocu and uco, community action agency, and the city of oklahoma city. 9. Acquired one home to rehabilitate and use for low-income rental for a family.”
“Stone of hope: stone of hope exists to create a structure of support for our community schools. Our city's statistics show that our minority children are "dying on the vine" as they disproportionately lack the same opportunities to build a foundation from which to thrive. We do this through: meeting gaps in students basic needs so that they have what they need in order to learn: every classroom is given a full set of classroom supplies to start the year with the tools needed to learn as this was a huge need. More than 600 students received the opportunity to engage in science education through outdoor gardens at their schools which grew food that they were able to try and then take home for their families to eat (taught through volunteer retired science educators & partners like noble foundation or osu's master gardeners, odyssey leadership academy, & the academy of classical christian studies). More than 18,000 worth of snacks were donated through our partnership with kehe food distributors which allowed kids an afternoon snack in class. Teachers reported that this helped significantly with end of day focus and behavior. More than 2,500 worth of new uniforms were placed in the uniform closet as part of our commitment to make sure no student is dirty at school. This closet allows students to change into a clean uniform and leave behind their old one to be washed and placed back on the shelf without their peers knowing. These were donated by individuals. Garden beds created, planted, and maintained for every classroom through restoreokc (in partnership with langston university, 4-h & usda). Backpacks of food home every weekend through regional food bank partnership. Retention/staff support & training created classroom care teams which are teams of 6 adults who come in pairs giving 2 hours per week to serve their teacher and classroom in whatever way their teacher determines is most helpful. More than 400 students have now benefitted from this extra resource allowing teachers to provide students with focused attention in difficult subject areas. Teacher retention went from 0% to 40% from last year to this year meaning that our focus on providing classroom care teams demonstrated significant success in curbing the teacher retention and allowing us to retain staff. By retaining staff, we have been able to provide coaching and training to teachers that will help them know how to effectively deal with and discipline from a trauma-informed framework: -lee roland as a consultant to leadership staff at thelma r. Parks to focus on discipline without tears & dropping student suspensions by 50%. -tbri training for staff & volunteers. Summer tutoring served ~50 of the lowest performing readers reinforcing concepts and reading to help with summer learning loss. Assistance with planning & hosting important school events to maintain community engagement with parents: -weekly character assembly hosted by restoreokc on monday mornings to reinforce the "character" of the week. -plan & host back to school bash for parks elementary to get students and their families in the door to meet their teacher. Every student gets a new uniform & backpack. Supplies are given directly to the classroom to make sure students have what they need when they come on the first day. -field day (super kids day) as a tbri games & outdoor play time for students. -christmas party where students get the opportunity to make a small gift for their family or caregiver. We believe that we will see significant strides made toward academic growth for students through a supportive strategy that engages with the community, whole families, school system, nonprofits, social services and city services when appropriate for students to flourish.”

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc | 0 | WORKDAY: WORKDAY IS AN ARM OF RESTOREOKC THAT MAKES BASIC HOME REPAIRS FOR WIDOWS AND SENIORS IN THE 73111 NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA CITY COMMUNITY. 9. ACQUIRED ONE HOME TO REHABILITATE AND USE FOR LOW-INCOME RENTAL FOR A FAMILY. |

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc | 0 | STONE OF HOPE: STONE OF HOPE EXISTS TO CREATE A STRUCTURE OF SUPPORT FOR OUR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS. WE BELIEVE THAT WE WILL SEE SIGNIFICANT STRIDES MADE TOWARD ACADEMIC GROWTH FOR STUDENTS THROUGH A SUPPORTIVE STRATEGY THAT ENGAGES WITH THE COMMUNITY, WHOLE FAMILIES, SCHOOL SYSTEM, NONPROFITS, SOCIAL SERVICES AND CITY SERVICES WHEN APPROPRIATE FOR STUDENTS TO FLOURISH. |

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | TWO ROOSTERS CLEANING (WELLSPRING CLEANING COMPANY AS OF APRIL 2019) WELLSPRING CLEANING COMPANY GREW OUT OF RELATIONSHIPS BUILT OVER MANY MONTHS OF LIVING IN, LOVING AND SERVING THE NE OKC COMMUNITY. 3. 3 OF THOSE WERE ABLE TO CONSOLIDATE HIGH-INTEREST DEBT AND PAY IT OFF SO THAT THEY LEAVE OUR PROGRAM DEBT-FREE AND CLOSER TO THEIR LIFE GOALS. |

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 3 | WORKDAY: WORKDAY IS AN ARM OF RESTOREOKC THAT MAKES BASIC HOME REPAIRS FOR WIDOWS AND SENIORS IN THE 73111 NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA CITY COMMUNITY. 9. ACQUIRED ONE HOME TO REHABILITATE AND USE FOR LOW-INCOME RENTAL FOR A FAMILY. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 4 | STONE OF HOPE: STONE OF HOPE EXISTS TO CREATE A STRUCTURE OF SUPPORT FOR OUR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS. |
