IRS990/Desc0RESTORE JOBS: THROUGHOUT 2020, OUR 6 SINGLE-MOTHER CLEANING TEAM GREW TO EMPLOY MORE THAN 30 THROUGH OUR WELLSPRING CLEANING COMPANY. GIVEN THE OPTION TO PAUSE THEIR BUSINESS & TAKE THE EXTRA COVID UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS THEY CHOSE, RATHER, TO BECOME CDC-CERTIFIED IN COVID-REMEDIATION & STAY ON THE FRONT-LINES OF SERVING THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC. THEY SERVED GROCERY STORES, MEDICAL CLINICS, DENTAL & VISION CLINICS & OTHER "ESSENTIAL SERVICES" SO THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO STAY OPEN. THE BLESSING IS THAT THE BUSINESS GREW BY MORE THAN 400% & THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO SCALE SO AS TO EMPLOY 5X AS MANY NEIGHBORS AS WE DID IN 2019, THAT'S GROWTH DESPITE THE ODDS!

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0RESTORE SCHOOLS: THE YEAR 2020 WAS A WILD RIDE FOR SCHOOLS, STUDENTS & OUR TEAM. COVID MEANT THAT WE PIVOTED TO VIRTUAL SCHOOL & THEREFORE VIRTUAL "CLASSROOM CARE TEAMS." THOUGH NOT ALL OF LAST YEARS VOLUNTEERS COULD COMMIT TO VIRTUAL CARE TEAMS, WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD TO SAY THAT MORE THAN 2,000 HOURS WERE SPENT IN "VIRTUAL BREAKOUT ROOMS" WITH STUDENTS & TEACHERS THIS YEAR GIVING TEACHERS & KIDS BOTH CONTINUITY OF ANOTHER FACE WHO CARED! ADDITIONALLY, WE WERE ABLE TO PARTNER WITH THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF OKLAHOMA COUNTY TO OPEN A HOPE CENTER FOR VIRTUAL SCHOOLING FOR STUDENTS. MORE THAN 75% OF STUDENTS IN OUR HOPE CENTER LIVE IN A HOME WITHOUT CONTACT WITH ONE BIOLOGICAL PARENT, MEANING THAT WE WERE NOT ONLY ABLE TO PROVIDE SPACE FOR SCHOOL BUT ALLOWED SINGLE-PARENTS TO KEEP WORKING. MORE THAN 25% OF THESE STUDENTS HAD A FAMILY MEMBER INCARCERATED, AND RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATED IN GRIEF, RESILIENCE AND COPING SKILLS PROGRAMS AS COVID MADE ALL OF THESE THINGS MORE DIFFICULT. COMBINED, THEY GAVE MORE THAN $160,000 OF SUPPORT TO EACH SCHOOL THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR & WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE WRAP-AROUND SUPPORT THROUGH FOOD BOXES, MORE THAN 15,000 WARM UNIFORM OR CLOTHING PIECES, HOUSING SUPPORTS & PEER TO PEER SUPPORT FOR DOZENS OF FAMILIES.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0RESTORE FARMS: THE FARM TEAM USED 2020 TO REALLY FOCUS ON THEIR PRODUCTION GOALS & SAFELY KEPT MORE THAN 20 HIGH SCHOOL INTERNS EMPLOYED THROUGHOUT COVID. FOR MANY, THIS WAS A SAFE PLACE TO DO HOMEWORK VIRTUALLY OR BE WITH OTHER STUDENTS. THEY PRODUCED HUNDREDS OF POUNDS OF PRODUCE & WERE ABLE TO WORK IN THE MARKET AT RESTOREOKC HELPING TO PROVIDE A GROCERY STORE DURING A PANDEMIC. ADDITIONALLY, OUR RESTORE FARMS INTERNS MET WITH BUILDERS, ARCHITECTS & HOMELAND TO DETERMINE HOW BEST TO SCALE THEIR MICRO-GROCERY STORE & MOVE IT FROM OUR FARM TO A MORE COMMUNITY-CENTERED LOCATION. THE MARKET AT EASTPOINT OPENED EARLY 2021, & THESE RESTORE FARM INTERNS HAVE WON CITY & STATEWIDE AWARDS FOR THEIR EFFORTS AROUND FOOD JUSTICE & FOOD ACCESS FOR THEIR COMMUNITY WHEN IT WAS MOST NEEDED!

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc0RESTORE HOMES: DURING COVID, OUR LARGE VOLUNTEER HOME REPAIR DAYS WERE OBVIOUSLY PUT ON HOLD. HOWEVER, AS SENIORS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS WERE TOLD TO "SHELTER IN PLACE" WE HAD MORE NEEDS THAN EVER BEFORE TO ASSIST WITH HOME REPAIRS THAT MADE THAT POSSIBLE. MORE THAN 700 VOLUNTEERS & CORPORATE PARTNERS LIKE INTEGRITY ROOFING HELPED TO REPAIR & REPLACE ROOFS THAT WERE CAVING DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE SNOW & ICE. SOME PLUMBING & ELECTRICIANS DONATED THEIR TIME & LABOR TO MAKE ESSENTIAL SAFETY REPAIRS. OVERALL, EVEN WITH EXTREMELY MINIMAL COSTS DUE TO PARTNER DISCOUNTS (OUR AVERAGE ROOF WAS $2,500), WE GAVE AWAY MORE THAN $200,000 OF ROOFS & ROOF REPAIRS THROUGH 2020.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc1RESTORE COMMUNITY: RESTOREOKC'S COMMUNITY ARM WENT INTO "HIGH-GEAR" THROUGHOUT COVID AS WE DID MORE RELIEF THAN WE HAVE EVER DONE BEFORE. WE DISTRIBUTED MORE THAN 60,000 POUNDS OF FOOD RELIEF BOXES THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY & TO FAMILIES FROM OUR SCHOOLS WHO WERE AFFECTED BY COVID, FREEZES, AND JOB LOSS THAT MEANT RELIEF NEEDS THAT WERE HIGHER THAN THEY HAVE EVER BEEN. WE DELIVERED PALLETS OF WATER WHEN NEIGHBORS LOST POWER & WATER FOR MORE THAN 28 CUMULATIVE DAYS OVER THE YEAR. WE WERE ABLE TO WORK WITH OG&E TO GATHER A POWER STATION & HELP CHARGE CELL PHONES & MEDICAL DEVICES FOR NEIGHBORS WITH OUR GENERATOR POWER SO THAT THEY HAD A WAY TO CONTACT HELP IF NEEDED & MORE. WE WERE ABLE TO LEAD "BREAKOUT SESSIONS" AT OU HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER STUDENT LED "BRIDGES TO ACCESS" CONFERENCE TO HELP CAREGIVERS UNDERSTAND THE UNIQUE VULNERABILITIES OF OUR AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITIES DURING THIS MOMENT & MORE.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc2RESTORE FOODS: WHILE MOST PEOPLE WOULD NOT ADVISE THE START-UP OF A GROCERY STORE AMID PANDEMIC, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT RESTORE FOODS DID IN 2020. WE WERE PROUD TO BREAK GROUND IN 2020 FOR OUR 7,000 SQUARE FOOT COMMUNITY- OWNED & COMMUNITY-LED GROCERY STORE THAT NOW EMPLOYS MORE THAN 40 NEIGHBORS. GRAND OPENING WAS APRIL 2021 & WE HAVE SEEN INCREDIBLE RESULTS NOT ONLY FOR FOOD ACCESS, BUT HAVE DONE 4X THE INDUSTRY AVERAGE IN CATEGORY SALES OF PRODUCE PROVING A DEMAND FOR FRESH THAT WAS LONG OVERDUE!
