Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The primary purpose of the organization is to raise and administer funds to support the cutting edge of pediatric cancer research. The purpose is to fund such research in order to fight pediatric cancer, as currently 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer a year. In the u.s. More kids die from cancer than any other disease. Two-thirds of children who survive suffer long-term effects from a brutal treatment plan, and yet only 3 new drugs have been approved in 20 years and less than 4% of the national cancer institute funding goes to help fund research to fight pediatric cancer. The organization provides an effective and efficient mechanism for individuals and corporations to participate in helping to raise funds to be used in support of pediatric cancer research. The organization does this by providing opportunities for sponsorship of participants in the chicago triathlon, as well as by hosting other events to augment donations to be used for the purposes identified herein.
