TAEF is the philanthropic arm of the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA). TAEF provides support for a variety of art education programs and promotes, invests and awards grants and scholarships to further the mission of the TAEA and its programs. TAEF's primary purposes are:To promote and advance the teaching of visual arts in the community, museum, elementary, secondary and higher education settings in the state of TexasTo support and assist teachers of visual arts in the state of Texas by awarding grantsTo foster and reward careers in art education through the awarding of scholarships to higher education students engaged in art education programs
The Foundation was initiated by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) Council-at-Large with the intent that TAEF serve as the philanthropic arm of the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) to provide support for a variety of art education programs and to promote, invest and award grants and scholarships to further the mission of the Association and its programs (i.e., VASE, Junior VASE, TEAM, YAM, and future programs). The Foundation was created in 2014 to serve as the charitable auxiliary to the Texas Art Education Association and incorporated into a separate 501c3 in 2016. The grant and scholarship programs of TAEA will be issued from funds generated from interest on the principal investments of the Foundation.
