Mission

TAEF is the philanthropic arm of the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA). TAEF provides support for a variety of art education programs and promotes, invests and awards grants and scholarships to further the mission of the TAEA and its programs. TAEF's primary purposes are:To promote and advance the teaching of visual arts in the community, museum, elementary, secondary and higher education settings in the state of TexasTo support and assist teachers of visual arts in the state of Texas by awarding grantsTo foster and reward careers in art education through the awarding of scholarships to higher education students engaged in art education programs

The Foundation was initiated by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) Council-at-Large with the intent that the Foundation serve as the philanthropic arm of the TAEA to provide support for a variety of art education programs and to promote, invest and award grants and scholarships to further the mission of TAEA and its programs (i.e., VASE, Junior VASE, TEAM, YAM, and future programs). The Foundation was created in 2014 to serve as the charitable auxiliary to the TAEA and incorporated into a separate 501c3 in 2016. The grant and scholarship programs of TAEA will be issued from funds generated from interest on the principal investments of the Foundation. The foundation's primary purposes are:To promote and advance the teaching of visual arts in the community, museum, elementary, secondary and higher education settings in the state of TexasTo support and assist teachers of visual arts in the state of Texas by awarding grantsTo foster and reward careers in art education through the a

The Texas Art Education Foundation administers scholarships and grant programs for the membership of the Texas Art Education Association.1. Dale Battle Conference Scholarship awarded to a first-year art educator to attend annual conference - $300 scholarship (1-3 recipients annually depending on applications and funds)2. Memorial Scholarships awarded to pre-service university students pursuing art education as their focus - $1000 scholarships (1-7 recipients annually depending on applications).3. Membership Grants awarded to TAEA members to further research, professional learning or special projects with students - $500 grants (1-6 recipients annually depending on applications).4. Joey Doyle VASE Scholarship awarded to a student within the Visual Arts Scholastic Event during State VASE - $500 scholarship (1 recipient annually)5.
