Form 990, Page 1, Item B

The property that was donated to the foundation for historical purposes has met with some resistance from the local taxing authorities regarding tax abatements for historical purposes. This has caused questions as to the viability of the foundation to be able to meet their exempt purpose in maintaining and preserving the home and barn for historical purposes. After discussing the issues with legal counsel it was determined that the property should be legally transferred back to the contributor and the charitable deduction would be disallowed as the transaction is officialy unwound. The foundation will pursue the purchase and/or donation of a neighboring property that would be able to meet the organization's mission and purpose and therefore the historical foundation will remain active for a few years while this avenue is studied and pursued. Schedule b is no longer valid for the amended tax return since no contributions were received as the legal transfer to the foundation was reversed.
