Mission

Caritas communities holdings, inc. Is organized for the purpose of acquiring and operating low-income rental housing projects under section 542(c) risk-sharing program of the national housing act as regulated by the u.s. Department of housing and urban development.

Caritas communities prevents homelessness by providing very low income individuals with permanent housing, support, a sense of community and expanded opportunities.

Other governance documents and conflict of interest reporting forms are generally considered to be internal documents and are not usually distributed to the general public but may be available upon request.

The organization has received a determination letter from the internal revenue service ("irs") to be treated as a tax exempt entity pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and did not have any unrelated business income for the year ended december 31, 2019. The organization is publicly supported and is not a private foundation. The organization is required to file and does file tax returns with the irs and other taxing authorities. Accordingly, these financial statements do not reflect a provision for income taxes and the organization has no other tax positions which must be considered for disclosure. While no income tax returns are currently being examined by the internal revenue service, tax years since 2016 remain open.
