Louder Than a Bomb-Tacoma is an annual youth poetry festival. We were forced to cancel the in-person event in 2020 but held a virtual poetry slam in August 2020. We did hold the pre-slam event called Crossing the Street on February 29, which hosted over 150 youth poets and adult mentors.$0$17,632
-The Eastside Invisible Poetry Project is a program that involved workshops in elementary schools on Tacoma's Eastside. In held the workshops for this program during the 2019-20 school year, and finalized the project, which included painting poems on a city sidewalk with super hydrophobic sealant, in October 2020. We produced a video promoting the project, which involved about 30 youth. -Remann Hall Book and Writing Clubs are Programs for incarcerated youth at Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center in Tacoma, WA. Youth Ages 12-17 participate in weekly meetings. Over 200 youth participated in 2020. -Virtual Writing Workshops. Because of COVID-19, we moved our programming online. Our writing workshops throughout the year offered online spaces for youth to participate. We held one-off workshops with professional writers and a mini-camp over winter break. Over 150 youth participated in workshops in 2020. -Educational Partnerships are programs in which Write253 teaching artists offer workshops to youth in classrooms and other educational spaces. Until March 2020, we were working in schools buildings to provide workshops leading up to Louder Than a Bomb-Tacoma. After lockdown, we transitioned to online workshops and hosted workshops in partnership with Tacoma Public Library. In 2020, we served 500 youth through educational partnerships.$0$17,401
Disclaimer Magazine is a literary magazine for youth writers curated by youth writers. The youth editorial board seated 10 youth and we printed 500 copies of the magazine, which we have been distributing throughout the community.$0$13,425
Line Break Press is a letterpress program that teaches youth the art of letterpress printing and book arts. Until March 2020, we operated a print shop at the Washington State History Museum. We closed the shop when COVID-19 shutdowns began but were able to make prints remotely. Youth would send poems to Write253 staff who would make proofs. Prints made by youth were part of the Tacoma Poets Series. We worked with 10 youth on this project and with over 200 in the first quarter of 2020, when the print shop was still open.$0$9,661

In held the workshops for this program during the 2019-20 school year, and finalized the project, which included painting poems on a city sidewalk with super hydrophobic sealant, in October 2020. We produced a video promoting the project, which involved about 30 youth. -Remann Hall Book and Writing Clubs are Programs for incarcerated youth at Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center in Tacoma, WA. Youth Ages 12-17 participate in weekly meetings. Over 200 youth participated in 2020. -Virtual Writing Workshops. Because of COVID-19, we moved our programming online. Our writing workshops throughout the year offered online spaces for youth to participate. We held one-off workshops with professional writers and a mini-camp over winter break. Over 150 youth participated in workshops in 2020. -Educational Partnerships are programs in which Write253 teaching artists offer workshops to youth in classrooms and other educational spaces. Until March 2020, we were working in schools buildings to provide workshops leading up to Louder Than a Bomb-Tacoma. After lockdown, we transitioned to online workshops and hosted workshops in partnership with Tacoma Public Library. In 2020, we served 500 youth through educational partnerships., $, $17401|
