Soundbio Lab

The SoundBio Lab provides a lab space thats available to community members to use for their own independent research. SoundBio also runs workshops, open to the general public, within its lab space focused on hand-on science learning. SoundBio also takes science out into the local community by attending tabling events throughout Seattle.

SoundBio Lab advances science equity by providing resources & education to the greater Seattle area. Through learning by doing we enable community-driven contributions to science, foster interdisciplinary exploration, and encourage career development. As a small, unique, volunteer-run organization, SoundBio members made a big difference in our community with over 250 hours volunteering in outreach events and impacted over 1,400 students prior to the pandemic. We were severely impacted for most of 2020 and 2021. To address pandemic-related needs for hands-on learning in remote learning spaces, we focused on the development of at-home experiments and a series of webinars for basic lab skills to support the needs of our learning community.
