| Welcome Mat 2 People 0 (2017 & 2025)Explored the universal nature of intolerance. Featuring voices from diverse communities and grounded in historical documentation, the work invites audiences to confront bias and work toward a more inclusive society.Flamenco Y Frida (2024)An immersive, multidisciplinary performance inspired by Frida Kahlos use of art as a response to personal and political struggle. This original work brings together artists from Dallas and Chicago and is led by the powerful rhythm of live flamenco music, song, and dance. Through movement and sound, the production honors Kahlos legacy while exploring the transformative power of creative expression in the face of adversity. In Spite of History - Part 1 (2022-2023)This multi-site immersive experience, produced in partnership with Broadway Dallas, examines the era when Black residents could attend the State Fair of Texas only one day per year. Centering stories from South Dallas residents from the 1960s to today, the work addressed the regions racial history and encouraged equity-focused change at Fair Park.Family Dollar (2016 & 20212022)In West Dallas, Artstillery collaborated with over 50 residents of West Main Street to preserve their stories and two historic shotgun houses under threat from gentrification. In partnership with engineering firm Mead & Hunt, we relocated and reconstructed the homes on the grounds of Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church. These structures became the stage for a powerful immersive performance that highlighted the human impact of displacement. Many audience members found themselves participating in the stories they helped shape. In Spite of History - Part 1 (2022)This multi-site immersive experience, produced in partnership with Broadway Dallas, examines the era when Black residents could attend the State Fair of Texas only one day per year. Centering stories from South Dallas residents from the 1960s to today, the work addressed the regions racial history and encouraged equity-focused change at Fair Park.Art Cultivation (2020-2022)Started outdoors during the covid lockdowns, Artstillery was proud to be the first Dallas organization to safely program a gathering including support from Dallas District 6 and a covid compliance officer. This program supported over 400 individual artists providing an iconoclastic space for artistic exploration.Dirty Turk aka Dirty Immigrant (2018 & 2021)Originally staged at 723 in 2018 and later expanded for the Dallas Museum of Arts My|gration exhibit, this multidisciplinary piece examined the identity struggles of first-generation immigrant, migrant, and refugee children in the U.S. It offered an intimate look at intergenerational trauma and cultural assimilation.Generations of Adam (2019)This immersive, site-specific production delved into deeply personal narratives of trauma connected to institutional religion, toxic masculinity, and the ongoing fight for womens rights. Developed from interviews with community members, the piece illuminated intergenerational cycles of harm while creating space for reflection, dialogue, and healing. | - | $67,711 |
