| Equine Rescue - Specializing in Critical Care FCR accepts unwanted horses or those in need to rescue from individual s or brought to us by humane societies and law enforcement. The rescue transports these horses and provides for the nutritional medical farrier and rehabilitation needs. We often rely on foster homes to complete the rehabilitation process. Rescue horses are re-homed after rehabilitation based on our screening process to ensure that horse and home are a good match. This program is supported from the rescues general operating funds. | Educational Program In 2024 Fighting Chance Rescue built a new educational center. The center was built to encourage education on a local level. We built a building that included indoor space and out coverage . We added safe footing to the center .Fighting Chance rescue hosted any educational clinics and discussion sessions. One of the important clinics that were held was understanding equine law and regulations of the state of ohio . This particular class was taught by a local police officer . It was offered to local police agencies and humane societies. After attending this class several departments utilized the information and seized horses that were able to rehab at Fighting Chance. We assisted in many seizures and were on the front lines of rescue. Fighting chance had an unusual number of body score one horses in 2024. It was offered to local police agencies and humane societies. After attending this class several departments utilized the information and seized horses that were able to rehab at Fighting Chance. We assisted in many seizures and were on the front lines of rescue. Fighting chance had an unusual number of body score one horses in 2024. We took horses that were surrendered by owners horses bought from auctions and horses seized from police departments and humane societies in our community. We took horses that came here for hospice. We gave them the ability to pass with love and dignity. We took several cases of horses with serious eye issues and had several eye enucleations. We upgraded several areas to aid in housing and turnout of fully blind equines. We added three stalls to aid in the post op recovery of eye surgeries. FCR held several girl scout badge programs .We focused our educational training on rescue and nutrition. FCR is the only equine rescue in our district of Western Ohio to offer a true badge program . We spend a lot of time throughout the year expanding our program and offering new equine. We continued facility improvements to help horses in recovery. We expanded our quarantine and added safer shelter options . We upgraded some maintenance equipment to make upkeep easier and more efficient., $127978|”
