Mission

The Center for U.S. Policy (CUSP) is a non-partisan research and education organization dedicated to enhancing the health, safety, and economic opportunity of all Americans. In 2022, the organization focused heavily on substance use disorder (SUD) prevention, interventions, and treatment. For example, CUSP analyzed the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Ruan v. U.S. and its impacts on SUD prevention and treatment. CUSP also published tips for nonprofits interested in accessing opioid litigation proceeds. Research and analysis: CUSP's 2024 research and analysis advanced the public interest by 1) providing support to the not-for-profit National Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) Institute's inaugural national RFW employer certification program 2) helping shape the Institute's consensus on RFW definitions and certification standards, and 3) and collaborating in the development of several substance use disorder prevention resources, such as fact sheets on psilocybin, ketamine, and MDMA.$0$62,466
Education and outreach: CUSP's 2024 educational initiatives delivered public benefit by 1) convening accomplished drug policy professionals from across the nation to foster networking, creativity, and collaboration; 2) contributing subject matter knowledge and experience to curriculum development for the Rx & Illicit Drug Summit; 3) moderating a congressional briefing on the use of AI in health care; and 4) educating professionals and raising public awareness about the national RFW certification program.
