Artistyear, a national service americorps program, is a proven highdosage, evidencebased, inschool intervention designed to expand arts opportunities for students and communities via a resident teaching artist corps.

To develop, support, and place recent higher-education arts graduates across artistic disciplines at low-income schools as dedicated teaching artists, to ensure every underserved student in america has arts education through a national serive arts corps.

The form 990, as prepared by wipfli, llp, including the responses to questions, are reviewed for accuracy by the foundation's executive director, board chair, board president, board treasurer and audit committee chair prior to submission to the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The board and staff review the conflict of interest policy annually and are asked to complete and sign a form either revealing relationships that may indicate a conflict of interest and/or signing off indicating that there are no conflicts of interest. Throughout the year, staff will report any potential conflicts of interest to the executive director before proceeding with an entity that may be perceived as a conflict of interest. If a conflict of interest is reported, the individual will recuse themself from deliberations regarding that conflict.

The role of executive director of the foundation is that of a full-time employee who would receive compensation after the total amount of such compensation has been determined to be fair and reasonable by an independent committee of the board of directors. The committee, before compensation is paid to the executive director, reviews the performance of the executive director in light of the assigned job responsibilities and reviews his/her total compensation in comparison to the total compensation of individuals having similar responsibilities in other organizations, comparable to eyp and determines that the total compensation of the individual is reasonable in amount for the services rendered.

In summer 2017, artistyear was awarded national americorps funding, becoming the first national organization dedicated to service through the arts to receive funding and recognition from the corporation for national and community service (cncs), the federal agency that oversees americorps and national volunteering initiatives. The federal investment, along with private support, enabled artistyear to deepen its home base of philadelphia and partnership with the school district of philadelphia, and expand to the locations and school districts of new york city's department of education borough of queens, and roaring fork valley, colorado in partnership with the aspen music festival and school. Artistyear has partnered closely with each region's school district to identify high-need service-site schools where fellows are paired with existing certified teachers to expand and enhance arts education to improve student academic engagement, strengthen school culture, and develop the fellows themselves as engaged citizen-artists effective teaching artists. In 2017-2018, artistyear nearly tripled its organizational impact recruiting, developing, and supporting 25 "artistyear americorps fellows" who served in 24 federally-designated title i schools as full-time teaching artists. Collectively, the 25 artistyear fellows delivered about 42,500 hours of arts education to over 5,000 non-duplicated low-income students at least twice per-week, during their year of service.

THE FEDERAL INVESTMENT, ALONG WITH PRIVATE SUPPORT, ENABLED ARTISTYEAR TO DEEPEN ITS HOME BASE OF PHILADELPHIA AND PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA, AND EXPAND TO THE LOCATIONS AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS OF NEW YORK CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION BOROUGH OF QUEENS, AND ROARING FORK VALLEY, COLORADO IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ASPEN MUSIC FESTIVAL AND SCHOOL. ARTISTYEAR HAS PARTNERED CLOSELY WITH EACH REGION'S SCHOOL DISTRICT TO IDENTIFY HIGH-NEED SERVICE-SITE SCHOOLS WHERE FELLOWS ARE PAIRED WITH EXISTING CERTIFIED TEACHERS TO EXPAND AND ENHANCE ARTS EDUCATION TO IMPROVE STUDENT ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENT, STRENGTHEN SCHOOL CULTURE, AND DEVELOP THE FELLOWS THEMSELVES AS ENGAGED CITIZEN-ARTISTS EFFECTIVE TEACHING ARTISTS. IN 2017-2018, ARTISTYEAR NEARLY TRIPLED ITS ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT RECRUITING, DEVELOPING, AND SUPPORTING 25 "ARTISTYEAR AMERICORPS FELLOWS" WHO SERVED IN 24 FEDERALLY-DESIGNATED TITLE I SCHOOLS AS FULL-TIME TEACHING ARTISTS. COLLECTIVELY, THE 25 ARTISTYEAR FELLOWS DELIVERED ABOUT 42,500 HOURS OF ARTS EDUCATION TO OVER 5,000 NON-DUPLICATED LOW-INCOME STUDENTS AT LEAST TWICE PER-WEEK, DURING THEIR YEAR OF SERVICE.
