“Our mission statement is: "to facilitate the collaboration of all the stakeholders in the stl region's built environment in creating inclusive, robust employment and economic growth. The organization strives to be a "room without walls" where the entire construction industry can participate in building relationships and working on issues large & small. We believe that when the construction community comes together to network, discuss ideas, and share information we are all better for it. The organization encourages the forging of relationships and the exchange of ideas in a communal setting by scheduling and organizing planned educational quarterly events.these events function as both networking and speaker events in order to bring the construction industry and the greater community together to discuss current events and accomplishments in the local construction landscape, cultivate forward-thinking industry ideas, and resolve tough issues like diversity, workforce development, contract environment, and labor problems. Since the organization does not have any members and there is no cost to attendees, there are no limitations as to who can participate in the forum's programming. The organization operates and maintains two websites, www.constructforstl.org and www.yeahibuilthat.org. Our www.constructforstl.org website is designed to aggregate both original content and content from other sources to disseminate relevant information and build relationships within the local construction industry. The website also includes a moderated comment/reply option that anyone is allowed to participate in. This website is strictly moderated by the organization to ensure that an unbiased environment is presented and no political or advocacy activity is promoted through the website. The organization plans to grow the scope of the website by including videos of the scheduled events, interviews, and special projects in the future that build a more diverse and inclusive conversation in establishing and maintaining a welcoming work environment. The www.yeahibuiltthat.org website was designed to attract the educators, learners, parents, skilled apprenticeship training centers, workforce development and industry leaders as a "go to" for steps to take and resoruces available to get involved and learn about the industry. The organization also produces a biweekly newsletter to share recent construction news, current job listings, and upcoming industry events. The purpose of this newsletter is to further the spread of vital industry-related knowledge and information to those in the community to encourage further discussion. Anyone can join the mailing list for this newsletter free of charge. Construction forum is a "member-less organization that serves as a convener, collaboration builder, and communication channel, enabling public discourse and focused action on issues related to diversity/inclusion, workforce, regionalism, and collaboration. The organization has no agenda, save information and civil discourse, and so supports no political agendas, by intent. The organization has impacted areas as diverse as regional collaboration, opioids in the workforce, careers for youth and adults from at-risk backgrounds, and immigrants/refugees. It has received local and national media coverage and awards for work in regionalism, diversity/inclusion, public policy, immigrants/refugees, and opioids in the workplace.”

“We were asked by industry leaders to serve as the main source of communication to the industry about covid vaccination information. In answer to that request, we developed covid-19 resources on our website - vax fax stl and tell me how. We organized and promoted a women in construction career event for veterans and women to be exposed to industry leaders and programs. We coordinated with four rivers career center to host a streaming event targeted to girls interested in construction careers. We developed a six-series 'building tomorrow's construction workforce' workshop for our stakeholders - the first two events took place in 2021.”
