“Through the organization of events, dc immersion raises awareness about general and specific issues related to achievment, 21st centry skills and dual language programming. During the 2015/16 fiscal year, dc immersion has reached thousands of dc residents, including parents, educators and community members, through community events in ward 7 (entitled languages as a pathway to opportunity) and ward 1 (entitled economic and social value of billingual education). Through the production of reports, fact sheets, articles and newsletters, dc immersion increases access to available expertise and information. During the 2015/16 fiscal year, dc immersion reached over 600 people through its monthly newsletters, 20,000 people through its website, thousands through its social media channels, and produced a factsheet in english and spanish and a number of other educational materials which it distributed online and at its educational events.”
