Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Investigative Studios produces documentary films and multimedia reporting that exposes oppression and corruption to rouse the most dynamic level of change: an informed public. We are invested in the proposition that investigative reporting is necessary to a democratic society. Our work focuses on issues and events that are overlooked, misunderstood, or hidden from view to the public's detriment. We embrace the notion that for the audience to trust our work we have to be transparent about our process and adhere to the highest standards of journalism: accuracy, fairness, and ethical behavior. Investigative Studios is committed to dramatically expanding access and opportunities for filmmakers from racially and ethnically underrepresented backgrounds. We conduct original investigative reporting that results in collaborations in print, film, audio, and other multimedia stories, as well as advise and support investigative filmmakers.
