“The purpose of rhode home rescue is to (1) rescue animals from situations that are abusive, endangering or neglectful (2) to rescue animals in danger of being euthanized at area shelters and pounds (3) to assist owners who are not willing to keep their dogs or cats, by finding new homes for these animals through the organizationss owner surrender program, as an alternative to placing their dog or cat in a public shelter or animal control facility (4) to provide necessary veterinary care (5) to provide homes for these animals (6) to place rescue animals into permanent adoptive homes (7) to educate and promote the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals (8) to educate the public on how to prevent animal cruelty (9) to assist when, financially able, with vetting for elderly and low income dog and cat owners so that these animals do not get surrendered because of the inability to pay for vetting (10) to assist dog and cat owners with the temporary housing of pets when the owner is hospitalized, in a temporary nursing home or rehabilitation facility, or deployed on military orders.”

“Prior to a rhode home rescue dog or cat being adopted, each animal undergoes an extensive examination by our veterinarians, including a comprehensive blood profile, is updated on all vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Health issues that require additional treatment, such as heartworms, surgery, etc.,are addressed prior to adoption. At rhode home rescue we firmly believe that a healthy, well trained dog or cat is the key to the successful integration of a rescued animal and ensures a wonderful, loving companion for years to come.”
