| This year was one of Value, Valuation, and Validation. Our first Directors meeting took a long look at our mission statement, purpose and are we fulfilling our highest intentions and objectives. We set the intention that this was the year to grow, expand our outreach and plan for improvements. We decided to update and revise our business plan and goals to fit the times and where we presently are. We took inventory and recorded throughout the yearOur Hunt/Harvest Season seemed to be different this year, the participants were so diverse and from every corner of America. We also facilitated more trauma victims (military, police) disabled and Elderly. Whole families attended, bringing friends, relatives and youth for the Sacred instructions of the honoring and collaborative ways to harvest with gratitude. The feedback was enormous and the rebooking for the next season unprecedented we sold out our next season before completing this one, a first ever. Validation! The Buffalo also had their year of recognition. The grasslands were rich and verdant and they thrived. We had not fed hay during winter (a first) and decided to let the hayfield rest. Many came to view, witness and just be on the land with them. Among them was Doc Woerner, a veterinarian and nationally known leader and advocate for the Buffalo. He said he loved and admired our herd and free grazing managementmore than any other! So much so he paid my way to attend a Summer Conference of The National Bison Association and The American Prairie Foundation. This was life changing and revealing. It was stunning to realize how unique and successful our Buffalo Program is. So much so, I was asked to be a key speaker at the 2025 Winter Conference! Validation indeed for our years of dedication and unwavering commitmentespecially on such a modest budget. Evaluating our income, budget and forecast we were reminded of the enormous gift we have in our people. Volunteers who truly are the backbone of our ability to function. The master mechanic who overhauls, upgrades and repairs all of our trucks and ATVs, being reimbursed only for parts and materialsall for the privilege of being on the land and with the Buffalo. Those who repair and fence for the fun of it! Those who care for the grounds and trees because they just love coming and being here! Those who come in on snowmobiles, bring supplies and break trail when I am snowed in. All of this is value beyond currency. Speaking of currency, our business bank accounts were hacked, we miraculously caught it in time and all was made secure and improvements were made. A learning experience for sure but there was good to balance itin August we were approached by and began lengthy conferences with a large privately held funding source of grant monies for nonprofits engaged in animal and land reclamation and sustainability. We are still engaged as SGI identifies and clarifies the use of such fundsproposed millionskeeping it real, grounded and true to our purpose. This year we repaired fences, built and repaired crossings in remote areas for better access. We had challenges of weather, trespassing of neighbor cattle, our Buffalo trespassing on neighbors and big retrieval efforts brought us all closer and more helpful to one another. True value!A very good year indeed. Now we focus on expansion, greater outreach and infrastructure to support what appears to be an even greater need and call for sharing our programs, education, experiential studies and research and most importantly the absolute value of every living Being and our need to respect, honor and collaborate with each other, the environment, the entire world around us for the betterment of all. We are grateful for the blessings and way forward. | - | $81,964 |
