Activity 2

Meal distribution programs: the council offers meals on wheels, diner club and congregate meals (provides meals to clients through kitchens, discount tickets at restaurants, etc.), commodities (provides food through deliveries), and farmers market (provide vouchers to purchase locally grown produce). During the fiscal year 27,351 meals on wheels were served to a total of 315 clients in need. In addition, 1,512 food crates were delivered to 252 clients and 6,875 coupons were provided to 275 clients to purchase local produce through the farmers market program.

Activity 3

Human services programs: the council operates a senior help line and resource center. It offers seniors, their families, caregivers and friends information and assistance regarding housing, transportation, employment, food resources, long-term care planning, retirement issues, in-home services, etc. In addition, the council employs a certified local ombudsman who protects resident rights for people living in long-term care facilities. During the fiscal year, there were 7,014 contacts made for information, assistance and the ombudsman programs combined. In addition, 689 loans of durable medical equipment were made. The organization provided over 419 hours of money management, and 173 hours of habilitation aid, and 263 hours of case management to 60 seniors in need.
